2009 Baseball

2008: As a utility player used at first base and in the outfield, Smith finished up the year with a .278 average...had an impressive weekend against Hannibal Lagrange on Feb. 14-15 going 5-for-8 with 7 RBIs...drove in three runs again against Rust College on Feb. 18.

JUCO: Transfer from Motlow State Community College...had a solid freshman year at Motlow State hitting .276 with 3 homeruns, 8 doubles, and 7 stolen bases.

2006: Red-shirted at Motlow State Community College.

High School: Prepped at Loretto High School under coach Gary Lamm...earned all-district honors his senior year...hit .325 with 4 homeruns and 60 RBIs as a senior...district champions in 2004 and 2005 and appeared in the 2005 state tournament...member of the Beta Club throughout high school...earned academic all-conference in 2004 and again in 2005.

Personal: son of Tom and Phyllis Smith...has three siblings, Jamie, Hannah Beth, and Joshua...favorite sports team is the New York Yankees...favorite movie is Never Back Down…majoring in kinesiology...favorite movie quote is "Life's a garden, dig it.
