ACTS (Athletes Committed To Success) is a program specifically designed for Freed-Hardeman University athletes. The program targets the priorities of life for a student-athlete: God, family and friends, academics, and athletics. ACTS not only places a strong emphasis on those areas, but also helps direct each individual athlete's path toward success.
The FHU ACTS program is a four-point opportunity:
1. Committed to a successful relationship with God - All athletes at Freed-Hardeman will own a Bible. Any athlete who does not have a Bible will be supplied one by ACTS. - Members will have the opportunity each semester to attend a campus worship service that will feature a special guest speaker. Athletes will be encouraged to bring friends and family. - A personal relationship with God will be promoted.
2. Committed to a successful relationship with family and friends - Each year ACTS will host a barbecue dinner for ACTS members with their families as guests. - ACTS will encourage the making of lifetime friendships by always encouraging friends to participate in scheduled events.
3. Committed to academic success - The ACTS organization will strive to help increase the GPA of each member each semester. - ACTS members will set individual GPA goals and be encouraged to meet and exceed their goals. - Tutors will be made available for ACTS members at their request.
4. Committed to athletic success - Living up to one's full potential in athletics and lifestyle is encouraged. - Leadership will be promoted. - To promote ACTS's theme of success, an athlete who excels athletically or improves significantly will be recognized weekly.
