Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion head
coach Todd Humphry is entering his 10th season with the program, having rebuilt
the program from scratch since his arrival in 2000.
The Lady Lions are coming off the most successful consecutive
seasons in school history. In the
past three years, FHU is 96-41 with two appearances in the Region XI Tournament
and a runner-up finish in the TranSouth Conference tournament. Since 2005, the Lady Lions are 160-100 under
Humphry's leadership.
In addition to directing the team's successes on the field, Humphry
has also overseen several upgrades to the program's facilities including the
construction of a press box and in-ground dugouts.
Humphry started coaching softball at Harding Academy in Memphis,
Tenn., in 1992, where he helped to build and develop what was then a young
program. He is also the head
volleyball coach at FHU where his team has won back-to-back-to-back TranSouth
Conference regular season titles in addition to conference tournament
championships in 2007 and 2009.
A 1989 graduate of Harding (Ark.) University, Humphry played on the
Bison baseball squad for two seasons.
He and his wife, Susan, have three children: Emily, 15; Jared, 13; and
Allie, 8.
