HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman baseball team added a player for the 2012 season with the recent signing of Ryan Seaton of Ripley, Tenn.

Seaton transfers to FHU after two years at Dyersburg State (Tenn.) Community College.  In 2011, he hit .364 with six doubles, 12 RBI and 17 runs scored.  He also pitched in seven games, going 2-4 with a 4.41 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 36 innings pitched.

He originally signed with TranSouth Conference member Union (Tenn.) University out of high school, but transferred to Dyersburg State.

Seaton prepped at Ripley HS where he was an all-district, all-region and all-state selection after hitting .375 with 35 RBI and 22 stolen bases and posting a 3-3 record on the mound with a 2.06 ERA.

"Ryan is an exciting sign for us because of his experience and versatility," said FHU head coach Jonathan Estes.  "In his two years at Dyersburg State, he has played almost every position on the field.  He has always been committed to doing whatever it takes to make his team better and we are looking forward to having that energy on our team."
