CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions continued their record start to the season with a 1-0 win over Campbellsville (Ky.) on Friday afternoon, wrapping up a four-match road trip with three wins and one tie.

Tonight's win already puts FHU over its win total from last year, when the Lady Lions went 2-13-2 in a season besieged with injuries.

Whitney Newby scored the game's only goal in the 16th minute, taking a cross from Briley Collins behind the Lady Tiger defense and beating Campbellsville keeper Brandie Hagerman.

FHU keeper Tiffany Harris made that goal hold up for the rest of the match, stopping a total of eight shots to post her second clean sheet of the season.  The Lady Tigers pressed ahead late and took four shots in the 89th minute in an effort to tie, but none were on frame.

Campbellsville out-shot FHU 20-11 for the match, but the Lady Lions held the edge in shots on goal, 10-8.

Freed-Hardeman returns to action for its home opener on Friday, Sept. 3, against Lambuth (Tenn.) University at 6:00 PM as part of the Lions Cup Invitational.
