ATLANTA - Simbarashe Zvaita scored his third goal of the young season while freshman Philipp Baier scored the first of his young career, leading the Freed-Hardeman Lions to a 2-1 victory over Atlanta Christian College on Monday afternoon.

Zvaita, who scored two goals in the Lions' win on Saturday, once again got FHU on the board early with his strike in the 19th minute, taking a pass in the left-center of the field and dribbling past the defense to set up his shot into the bottom-right corner of the net.

The Lions' lead expanded in the 57th minute when Guilherme Dorigo took a free kick from 25 yards out that sailed over the Chargers' wall and toward goal.  The ball was deflected by ACC keeper Josh Gregory, but Baier was in the right spot to corral the rebound and send it into the back of the net.

Atlanta Christian kept FHU freshman keeper Hunter Yoches from keeping a clean sheet with a goal in the 88th minute when a long ball was sent behind the Lion defense, leaving the Charger forward with a one-on-one against Yoches.

The Lions outshot ACC 18-11 and held a 9-3 edge in shots on goal.

The win improves Freed-Hardeman to 2-0 on the season.  The Lions have never had a 3-0 start to a season in the history of the program, but will get that opportunity on Friday, Aug. 27, when they travel to Campbellsville (Ky.) University for a 7:00 PM start.
