HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman University baseball program will offer three separate camps this summer for ages ranging from kindergarten through the 12th grade.
The camp sessions begins with Cub Camp on May 24-27. The Cub Camp is for boys who will be entering kindergarten though 3rd grade. The camp is designed to emphasize basic fundamental skills involved in the sport of baseball with less attention given to competition. The cost is $60 and registration will take place at Carnes Field at 8:30 am on May 24.
The next session will be a boarding/day camp from June 6-10 and is for players entering the 7th to 12th grades. This session will focus on how to prepare at the highest level possible for the high school baseball season. Campers will have the opportunity to play games and will be exposed to other aspects of a college program such as practice, drill work and weight lifting. The camp also provides individual skill development, positional breakdowns, game strategy sessions and team competitions.
Registration is from 3:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, June 6. Cost for boarding campers is $225 if pre-registered and $245 if registering on-site. Day campers may register for $100 in advance or $120 on-site. Prices include a t-shirt, camp booklet and evaluation.
The final session will be a day camp from June 14-17 and is for players entering the 4th through 8th grades. This session focuses on fundamentals of the game as well as team concepts and philosophies. Registration is from 8:00-9:00 am on Monday, June 14, at Carnes Field. Cost is $65 if pre-registered and $85 if registering on-site.
