PADUCAH, Ky. - Freed-Hardeman's Brian Bullard and Leamond Arthur were named to the All-TranSouth Conference team on Monday, May 10, during the opening day of the conference tournament.
Arthur, a junior from Ripley, Tenn., was a second-team selection at catcher after transferring to FHU from Jackson State Community College. Arthur started in 46 of the Lions' 55 regular season games, hitting .342 with four home runs, 32 RBI and a team-leading 18 doubles. He also drew 39 walks to fuel his team-leading on-base percentage of .484.
Bullard, a senior from Joelton, Tenn., was a second-team selection at first base for the second straight season. Bullard started in 53 games, hitting .320 with nine home runs and 52 RBI. He became FHU's all-time leader in RBI during the season, now totaling 187 in his career.
Freed-Hardeman also placed seven on the conference scholar athlete list with Garrett Ammons, Adam Blackburn, Brian Bullard, Evan Mansell, Hunter Newby, Charlie Overturf and Zack Smith also qualifying with grade point averages of 3.0 or higher.
