HENDERSON, Tenn. - On a day where other schools cancelled their games due to heavy amounts of rain, the Freed-Hardeman Lions and Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) Trojans attempted to get the final game of their three-game series in the books.

And while they did not finish the nine-inning game, they did get enough innings played in order for the game to be official as the Trojans took a 7-4 win in five innings.

The win helped TNU take the series, two games to one, and move into sixth place in the TranSouth Conference.  FHU (30-17, 7-8) dropped to fifth in conference, a half-game behind fourth place Martin Methodist (Tenn.), who the Lions will play next weekend.

Trevecca jumped on Lion starter Hunter Newby right out of the gate, getting three runs in the first inning and one in the second before Newby was relieved by Trae Luttrell.  But FHU came back to tie the game with four runs in the bottom of the second inning on RBI singles by Robert Prieto, Leamond Arthur and Noslen Labrada.

The Trojans retook the lead with another run in the top of the third, which proved to be enough as TNU starter B. J. Boston shut down the Lions' bats over the next three innings.  TNU added two more runs in the fifth inning to reach the final score of 7-4.

Prieto, Arthur and Evan Mansell each had two hits for Freed-Hardeman, which had four of its eight hits in the second inning.  Luttrell (3-4) took the loss for the Lions.
