BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - The No. 23 Freed-Hardeman Lions overcame a slow start to pick up their seventh win in a row, an 83-66 victory over Blue Mountain (Miss.) College on Thursday night while getting double-doubles from three players.

Jesse Moulton, Zack Frey and Kyle Teichmann all posted double figures in points and rebounds, helping FHU to a 51-37 advantage on the boards.  Moulton led all scorers with 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds.  Frey had 17 points and 11 boards, while Teichmann added 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Toppers, coming off their first win of the season on Monday night, started the game off by making four of their first five shots and built an early 16-5 lead, taking advantage of a cold 2-for-8 start for FHU.

But the Lions chipped away at the 11 point BMC lead and eventually took their first lead of the game (24-23) on a 3-pointer by Ken Bingham with 7:58 on the first-half clock.  The Toppers, however, didn't allow FHU to pull away, tying the game at 30-30 before the Lions took a 37-33 lead into halftime.

Eight minutes into the second half, it wasn't a close game anymore.

Freed-Hardeman opened the half on a 22-5 run, building a 59-38 lead with 12:26 to play, and held off a brief push by the Toppers that saw them get within 13 points late in the game.

The win keeps FHU (15-7, 8-1) in a first-place tie in the TranSouth Conference with Union (Tenn.) University, which also won tonight.  The Lions return to action on Saturday as they host Cumberland (Tenn.) University ay 4:00 PM.
