HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions got back on track in a big way on Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center.

The Lady Lions shot 56.4 percent in the first half - including an 8-for-16 performance from 3-point range - to post 62 points before halftime in cruising to a 109-48 win over Mid-Continent (Ky.) University.

The win broke a three-game losing steak for FHU (14-4, 2-3), their first since the 2006-07 season.

Freed-Hardeman blew the game open early, going on a 19-4 run midway through the first half to take a 36-16 lead at the 6:09 mark.  The Lady Lions then followed a Mid-Continent basket with a 26-4 run to close the half, scoring on 10 of their last 13 possessions including seven straight.

The second half was more of the same as FHU opened by outscoring Mid-Continent 17-6 in the first five minutes to go ahead 79-28.  All 10 players were able to log 13 or more minutes with the team's five reserves all getting significant time in the second half.

The Lady Lions place six players in double figures led by 18 from Tara Deatheridge, 15 of which came in the first half.  Hannah Parsley added 17, while Jana Cross (16), Maria Bagwell (13), and Meribeth Boehler (11) also reached double digits.

Leslie Morgan rounded out the group with 10 points in her first game of the season.  The freshman had previously been sidelined with an injury.  She made the most of her debut, knocking down a pair of 3-pointers and scoring nine points in the first half.

Freed-Hardeman also forced 34 turnovers and grabbed a season-high 25 steals.

FHU returns to the floor on Monday against Blue Mountain (Miss.) College at 6:00 PM at the Sports Center.
