William Woods hands Lions 79-69 loss on the road

FULTON, Mo. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion basketball team dropped their second straight game Saturday, as William Woods handed FHU the 79-69 loss on the road in Fulton, Mo.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 17-11 on the season and 12-8 in conference play. William Woods University moves to 19-10 on the season and 13-8 in AMC play with the win. 

The Lions shot 40 percent from the field in the game compared to William Woods, who shot 40 percent from the field and 33 percent from behind the arc.

Despite the loss, the Lions received solid contribution from Marcus Baldwin, who led FHU on the offensive end with 17 points after shooting 6-for-8 from the field. Fitzgerald Hopkins followed close behind, as he chipped in 13 points while Trevor Randolph rounded out the scoring for FHU with nine points.

Four players reached double digits for the Owls, led by Deon Pettigrew who ended the night with 18 points. DaShaun Stark followed close behind with 15 points while Trey Mitchell chipped in 14. Brandon Vice rounded out the scoring for the Owls with 13 points.

UP NEXT: The Lions return home Thursday, February 23rd, as they play host to St. Louis College of Pharmacy at the Brewer Sports Center. The Lady Lions kick things off first at 5:30 PM followed by the men's game at 7:30 PM.
