KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Freed-Hardeman's Leo Alvarez was among the 68 baseball players honored as NAIA All-Americans on Thursday, May 28.

Alvarez, a senior catcher from Miami, Fla., was selected to the honorable mention team.  He hit .440 with 13 homeruns and 53 RBIs.  He also posted an on-base percentage of .497 and a slugging percentage of .800 in helping the Lions to 34 wins on the season.  Alvarez also finished the season riding a 17-game hitting streak.

He was one of just seven catchers named to the All-American teams and one of four TranSouth Conference players to be honored.
