HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman University Lion baseball team added another arm to its 2010 pitching staff with the signing of Drew Stofel of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

Stofel, a 6-foot-4 right-handed pitcher, prepped at Lawrence County HS where he was a four-year starter on the mound and in the field for the Wildcats while playing for Coach Mike James.  Over the last two seasons, he won 12 games while striking out 101 batters.

"Drew has good velocity and a good breaking ball," said FHU head coach Patrick McCarthy.  "He has a lot of character and is a perfect fit for our program."

Stofel was also part of three Babe Ruth state championship teams in the 14u, 15u, and 16u age divisions.

He is the son of David and Alice Stofel of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.
