HENDERSON, Tenn. - Zack Frey scored 22 points, 15 in the second half, as Freed-Hardeman turned a one-point halftime lead into a 71-62 win over Campbellsville (Ky.) University on Saturday afternoon.
After both teams started slow, FHU went on a 10-0 run midway through the first half to take an 18-14 lead. Campbellsville tied the game up at 24-24 after the third of three straight threes by Zach Allender. The Lions retook the lead on their next possession and held that lead for the remainder of the game.
Freed-Hardeman led by as many as 12 points in the second half, following Shun Trevillian's three-pointer with approximately 4:00 to play. The Lions made only 5-of-8 free throws in the final two minutes but got enought stops defensively to keep the misses from making a difference.
FHU improves to 9-6 on the season with the win. The Lions are done for December, returning to action on Jan. 8 against Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College.
