JACKSON, Tenn. - Shun Trevillian made a pair of free throws with four seconds left as Freed-Hardeman charged back from an 11 point deficit to score a 62-60 win over Belhaven (Miss.) College in the Lambuth Eagle Classic on Friday night.

It was a pleasant end to a hectic day for the Lions, who until about 3:00 PM thought they would be playing Tougaloo (Miss.) College.  Instead, miscommunication resulted in a sudden change of plans.

Belhaven came out with the hot hand, opening the game on a 9-0 run and pushing ahead as many as 14 points at 23-9 with 10:25 left in the half.  The final 10 minutes of the half, however, shifted back to the Lions as they would outscore the Blazers 19-4 in that stretch to take a 28-27 lead into halftime.

The game stayed close through the first part of the second half, until Belhaven used a 10-2 run over four-plus minutes to take a 54-43 lead with 4:32 to play.

That's when the Lions' second comeback of the night began.

FHU connected on three-pointers on its next three possessions, including a rare four-point play when Jesse Moulton was fouled on his shot that came between a pair of Kristoffer Smith threes.  Smith's third three-pointer of the run pulled the Lions within two (60-58) with 1:45 left in the game.  Following a Blazer turnover, Smith tied the game with less than a minute left.

Belhaven missed a three-pointer with four seconds remaining and immediately fouled Trevillian after he grabbed the rebound.  The senior calmly stepped to the line and connected on both ends of the bonus, and the Blazers were unable to get a shot off before time expired.

Smith led FHU with 16 points, 11 of which came in the final 4:30 of the game.  Trevillin added 15 while Zack Frey and Jesse Moulton scored 12 and 10 points respectively.

Freed-Hardeman, now 3-3 on the season, takes on Tougaloo tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
