KANSAS CITY - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team finished off an historic season by achieving its highest-ever ranking, coming in at No. 21 in the Postseason Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches Poll released on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

FHU moved up four spots after their performance in the national tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.  Though the Lady Lions went 0-3 in pool play, they stayed close against two top-10 teams and won the respect of the voters in the process.

In the previous poll, Freed-Hardeman received its first-ever national ranking coming in at No. 25.

National champion Texas-Brownsville was the unanimous No. 1 selection followed by runner-up Concordia (Calif.).  Two of FHU's pool play opponents finished in the top 10 - Biola (Calif.) at No. 5 and Embry-Riddle (Fla.) at No. 6.

Freed-Hardeman finished the season with a record of 28-11.
